The solution for pesky cowlicks or bald spots

Introducing the Finger Perm

It just takes seconds to get rid of those pesky bald spots

  1. The Cowlick – Place some FINE SHINE® The Fix (or your styler of choice) in the palm of your hand. Please note that less is best. Rub your hands together to emulsify the product and then rub it on the scalp only. Open your fingers and slide them at the base of your hair and on the scalp then pinch your fingers together slightly. Go on rubbing in a circular motion and, if you can find your cowlick(s), make circles with your fingers on the scalp rubbing the base of your hair in the opposite direction of the cowlick. This will turn your worst problem into an asset.
If your hair gets too stiff, it means that you used too much product. Please note that one needs a firm product for this, just don’t let yourself get carried away.

  2. Other Bald Spots – If you have a bald spot somewhere other than a cowlick use the same method as above to style your hair. Move your fingers at the base of the hair in teeny tiny circles keeping the diffuser close to the scalp.
Hit the spots quickly to make your hair full!

  3. About the Blow Dryer – I suggest using a dryer with a diffuser and hitting the scalp only to set the base of the hair up. Using the diffuser and a quality product such as FINE SHINE® The Fix, allows you to be in control in setting the bases for a full-look hair style.
Keeping your head in an upright position, make circular movements with your fingers the opposite way of your cowlicks. If your bangs tend to go one way, then circle in the other direction, all the while hitting the scalp around the area treated with the hot air dispersed by the diffuser. Squeeze and scrunch the ends of your hair and, even if you don’t think you have curls, you will obtain wave and body right at the base with this method.

  4. Draw a "Head Map" – I’m sure you thinking that this is hard to do properly. It easier than you might think, thou it may take some time getting used to it. Drawing a "map" of your head can be of great help at first. Draw little circles to identify the areas with an arrow depicting the cowlick growth patterns.
I promise, it won’t take long before you have them all memorized and under control.

  5. Finish Drying – Once you have set the base in a full pattern, you can go ahead and complete drying your ends that should still be a little damp.

  6. The Part – If your bald spot is close to a part, move the part from the current location. Please note that long fine hair outweighs itself, actually causing the hair to break from the continued wear and tear of styling as well just the plain stress of everyday life.

  7. FINE SHINE® The Spray – When your hair is completely dry, turn it over lightly, slicing about one inch partings, and spraying FINE SHINE® The Spray (or your hair spray of choice) keeping the bottle about eight inches from the scalp. Flip the hair gently while spraying the base of it. Spray carefully the areas in which you would like to improve fullness or around those pesky cowlicks.
